Josh Gad: My Daughters Are No Longer Interested in Olaf

During a chat with talk show host Graham Norton, the ‘Frozen’ actor confesses that his two young daughters have moved on to wishing that Moana is their father.

Josh Gad can no longer impress his daughters with his Olaf impressions – as they have gone off his “Frozen (2013)” character in favour of “Moana“.

The actor, who voices the lovable snowman in the two “Frozen” films and other related projects, used to impress his kids Ava, nine, and Isabella, six by being able to become Olaf when they wanted.

However, he tells U.K. chat show host Graham Norton that they’re no longer interested in his character, and favour Polynesian Disney princess Moana instead.

“My girls really wish Moana is their father,” he explains. “They are somewhat over Olaf at this point. I have to remind them that Olaf pays for their school, the roof over their head and those quesadillas they love eating. So Olaf isn’t going anywhere soon if they want to keep eating and drinking!”

His kids’ lack of interest hasn’t stopped him returning to the role during the COVID-19 lockdown, however, as he recorded dialogue for a new series of shorts, “At Home with Olaf”, which debuted on Disney+ last month (April).

Josh’s interview with Graham airs in the U.K. on BBC One on Friday, May 29.
